GCT “My Community” Photograph Competition

The Greensward Charitable Trust are running a competition in association with CameraWorld (http://www.cameraworld.co.uk/) to find the best picture of your community.

To enter the competition, simply take photos of your community – using your iPhone, Android, compact camera, or other photographic equipment. What photographic equipment you use is not so important as the image you compose: interpret as broadly as you like:

 

Everest Community Academy Ice Skater bears Olympic Torch

Danielle Harrison from Everest Community Academy in Basingstoke was selected to carry the torch after entering the competition on the back of a Coca Cola cup.

Danielle is a talented figure skater, winning bronze in the 2011 British Championships. She is part of the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme and a member of the National Ice Skating Association ‘GB International Development’ squad.

GCT Update - End of 2011

As at the close of 2011, we have received an unconditional donation of £35,000 from AET Solutions Ltd., for which the Trustees are deeply appreciative. This has enabled the Trust to embark on the first steps of providing serious financial assistance to individuals and organisations in pursuit of the Trust’s mission.

We have assisted:

  • A talented young ice-skater to attend programmes and courses, a grant of £250
  • A group of ten South African students to continue their studies, with a ‘one-off’ payment of £7,500
